Marilyn Fitch
Marilyn grew up in a tight-knit rural farming community in North Carolina where neighbors were like
extended family, and where she developed a servant’s heart while helping her family care for a
disabled aunt.
Marilyn prayed that God would continue to use her as His vessel to serve others and help her to be a good steward of all He had given her. Many years later, after meeting a young seminarian from India—Billy Judson—and other students making family sacrifices to attend seminary, she felt called to become a part of their community.
Today, Marilyn understands that by investing her time and the financial blessings God has provided, she can MAGNIFY God’s glory through her support. Marilyn realized that God calls his servant leaders to go into the world and make disciples of all nations, leading each one down a different path. Some are called to leave family and friends, while others are called to stay and provide the needed support to equip and encourage others.
To honor her Aunt Elizabeth, the disabled aunt mentioned earlier, Marilyn established a scholarship at Shepherds for students with special-needs children, and continues to serve our students through prayer and encouragement. Even in her retirement, she has chosen to invest the gifts God has entrusted to her so that others may be equipped to go into the world and MAGNIFY God’s glory.
